Kamishibai Workshops for primary school children.

 

A fun and delightful way to develop story writing and storytelling skills.

 

Kamishibai  (kah-mee-she-bye) is part of a long tradition of picture storytelling that originated in Japan.  

The story is told with the use of large picture cards that are held up for the audience by the storyteller,
scene by scene. The words for each scene are written on the back of the story cards,
so the storyteller need never be concerned about forgetting  the story!

The cards are big to allow the audience can see them clearly but not too big to be handled easily.

 

Available in the following formats:

 

Mini Workshop (50 - 60 mins): $450.00

JB will demonstrate a Kamishiabi story.

Children will then make Kamishibai cards for a story supplied by JB.

Full Workshop (110 -120 mins): $650.00

JB will work with the children using the 3 Step Program

to help them create their own stories.

Students will then make Kamishibai cards for their stories

and present their Kamishibai stories to the group.
